What Does it Mean to be "Faith-Based"?

At Chico Christian, we follow a bible curriculum with age-appropriate stories, we pray before meals, we host chapel weekly, and children actively learn that Jesus loves them. We welcome families of all faiths and denominations.

Are you a Drop-in Center?

We are not a drop-in center.

Our classes have daily schedules and structure to provide children with the most supportive classroom environment. Because of this, we ask that all children be here before 9:00 am, so they can enjoy the most of their day.

What is your child guidance philosophy?

Chico Christian Preschool and Infant Center incorporate Love and Logic as our core child guidance philosophy. If you would like more information about love and logic click here.

What do you do for social-emotional development?

Our preschool classrooms practice the Second Step curriculum. This curriculum encompasses learning about emotions, problem-solving, and peer navigation through social stories, books, and visual aids. In addition, our teachers build upon these skills in the daily curriculum such as centers and planned activities. What is your policy about being sick?

Safety is a priority here at Chico Christian. Further, we kindly ask that if your child is not fully functioning, please keep your child home from school. If a child develops a high fever while at school or is not fully functioning, we will give you a call and ask you to pick your child up. In addition, if your child vomits or has diarrhea, a caregiver will be contacted. Children have to be 24 hours free from fever, diarrhea, and/or vomiting to return to school.

What is the policy on immunizations?

All children must be current on immunizations before entering Chico Christian Preschool and Infant Center. We can no longer accept waivers, except in cases with a physician's approval. If you need information on the vaccinations needed to attend, you may call our office or see your child's pediatrician. The California Department of Health requires a physical examination when enrolling.

What are the class sizes like?

At Chico Christian Preschool, we value having smaller classes. We do this to ensure quality education for all children in that environment. Additionally, we want to support staff with the ability to have high-quality interactions and activities in their classroom. Our facility has large spacious classrooms; additionally three other spacious rooms for indoor play. We also have a large playground and a beautiful church campus for walks, scavenger hunts, and other learning activities.
